Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and considering how awesome moms are it is no surprise we have already received a number of calls for Mother’s Day Spa Events. Spa events are a sure fire winner with moms. They love getting Primped! One event from last year in particular that stands out was a church that wanted to do something special for the moms in they congregation. We set up numerous stations for manicures, chair massages, hand massages, mini-facials, eyebrow shaping, make overs, and more! The mothers came out in droves to be pampered by our fabulous service providers. It was a really busy day but the energy and spirit was amazing and everyone really had a blast. So if you have some moms who you are looking to honor and thank this year, i can guarantee you they will love getting Primped.
MAKE UP EXPIRATION
Did you know that just like milk, makeup has an expiration date? Most days I put on eyeliner, mascara, and lipstick and never think about the expiration date of the makeup until recently when I got an irritation around my eye. I realized it was a product causing the irritation. The hardest part of being a makeup lover and owning plenty of cosmetics is having to part with your favorite blush, lipsticks, and eyeliners when their expiration dates approach. I know that throwing away your makeup when there is still product left can be painful. However, there is a reason we should not hold onto our favorite products forever. We all probably have beauty products that are at least a couple of years old, and it is hard to even remember when we first started using them. If a beauty product has passed its expiration date, your skin might react to it. This could cause irritation and redness. Bacteria can quickly spread and result in breakouts or other problems. Some suggestions for you are to:
Check an expiration date
Keep products in a cool, dry place that is not in direct sunlight
Do not share makeup or skin care products with others
Use and clean the spatulas that come with your products or switch to using q-tips to scoop out your product
• Only open a new product if you plan on using it for a while.
As a general rule, if your beauty products suddenly start to smell weird or change color or consistency, throw them away! If you store and clean your beauty products carefully, you should be able to use them for several more months. To keep your make up up to date, plan to sort your supplies twice a year, throwing away any questionable products.

WINTER HAIR CARE
The winter months make the days much colder, putting your luscious locks in more vulnerable situations. Here are some Primp Tips that you can use to protect your hair from cold weather damage.
One word: static. Always condition your hair with a deep conditioner every time you shampoo.
Always bring a hat to cover your hair from wind, rain, and snow. No one wants the“dreaded hat hair,” so we recommend wrapping your hair in a silk scarf before putting that cozy beanie on.
If you can, skip a day of shampooing (even two). Your hair is less prone to drying out of you shampoo 3 or 4 times a week than if you do it daily.
Make sure your hair is dry before you step outside. Moisture in your hair combined with the cold air will add further damage to your hair by freezing it and causing breakage.
Trim your hair every 6-8 weeks to reduce the chance of dry, split ends.
Use natural bristles. Brushes with natural bristles help redistribute oils from the scalp to the rest of the hair and also conduct less static than plastic brushes and combs.
It may be tempting when it is cold, but soaking in hot water does damage to your hair. Hot water dries out the hair so we suggest cool or warm water when bathing.
Limit the use of blow dryers and curling irons. If you must use them, try using a leave-in conditioner first. Diffuse it on low heat, concentrating on the roots. The less you deal with styling tools, the better off you will be.
Avoid spraying perfume in hair and pay attention to the alcohol content in hair products, such as hairspray. These chemicals tend to dry hair out and leave strands brittle.
Hydration Your hair needs it too/ Using a humidifier adds moisture to the to the air—air that is typically dry due to indoor heaters.
